    Phase I: Construct new two section school on same site.

    • Preserve historic elements of the original site and building
    • Improve drop-off and pick-up safety
    • Improve convenience for ADA access
    • Reorganize office/administration area at the main entrance for security
    • Right-size classrooms
    • Introduce project based learning areas
    • Improve security
    • Add special education spaces
    • Add separate gym and cafeteria
    • Add dedicated art and music/world language space
    • Provide storm shelters as required per building code​

  • A Design Advisory Committee was held on March 24, 2016 to review updated site layout and exterior elevations. 
  • The next Design Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled for April 7, 2016. This meeting will cover interior finishes. 
  • The Planning Board recommended approving rezoning from DR to R4 at the April 6, 2016 Omaha Planning Board meeting.
  • The Board of Education approved the revised site plan and schematic design drawings on April 11, 2016.
  • The Board of Education approved the Design Development drawings on April 25, 2016.
  • A Design Advisory Committee meeting was held April 7, 2016.

  • ​DLR Group has applied for re-zoning of Oakdale property to meet current city requirements
  • Project Design Advisory Committee provided additional feedback on the current site layout plan.  DLR will take this feedback and try to address as many concerns/constraints as possible.
  • The next Design Advisory Committee will be on March 24, 2016 to review site layout and building elevations.
  • ​DLR will present the revised site plan and schematic design drawings to the Board of Education on April 11, 2016.
